Our History
Our story begins in 1951 as Taylor County Co-op Credit Union. A financial cooperative set out to serve the members and employees of the Stetsonville Farmer’s Union. The newly chartered credit union was located on the second level of the old Farmer’s Union Co-op building on Whelen Ave (current location of the Medford Cooperative Tire & Auto Center).
In 1965, Taylor County Co-op Credit Union outgrew our humble and small beginnings and relocated into the Farmer’s Union Appliance Store building (current location of the Downtown Office Plaza).
Twelve years later, in 1977, the credit union was preparing to move for a third time. This time, it was into our newly built office at a brand-new location – 825 E. Allman St – where we currently reside today.
For over 30 years, Taylor County Co-op Credit Union only served members and employees of the Medford-Stetsonville Farmer’s Union. It wasn’t until the 1980s when our field of membership would expand to include persons living and working in Taylor County or within a 25-mile radius of the city of Medford.
As our membership continued to grow, we made two significant changes in 1995. We shortened our name to Taylor Credit Union and remodeled our building to continue to serve our growing membership.
Seven years later, in 2001, we expanded our field of membership to include Price and Clark Counties with Taylor County.
In 2009, we took on our biggest expansion to date. This was the year we opened our first branch, located in Abbotsford. With the build of a new branch, we also expanded our field of membership to a total of five counties including Lincoln and Marathon Counties.
As we continued to grow, it was time to complete some updating to continue to provide the same great service our members expect. In 2018 we started the renovation project of our Medford office, which finished in the spring of 2019. Our renovation project also included a rebranding with a new logo, slogan, mission, and vision statement as written above.
Today, we continue to provide exceptional service to our members who live and work in Taylor, Price, Clark, Marathon, and Lincoln counties. With our Medford and Abbotsford locations, Taylor Credit Union’s passion will always be here to meet the needs of your journey.
